Another 'bigpond is a joke' little tip bit.

If you attempt to log into www.bigpond.com too many times, you can get locked out for 3 hours.

How is this implemented? I assumed IP Address, browser identification, maybe the username involved, would be part of the implementation.

Of course, then i realised this was bigpond, removed the cookie, and logged in again, this time with the correct username, domainname and password.

Blarg.

so, yet another reason for me NOT to go the Telstra broadband route? i'm thankful I've at least got the option to say NO.

telstra bigpond cable was the fastest you could get, now internode, iprimus, et al, are install ADSL2+ gear, they'll provide a better service at less cost than bigpond. Not available in all areas, rollouts are continuing.

don't even think about bigpond adsl. it's a ripoff compared to the quite competitive pricing offered by other providers.

i never in my life contemplated telstra. been ripped off once by them, i refuse to do it again. currently doing a loverly shop around for providers, but will prolly go with optus cuz we're already on the phone and well, we're lazy. :)

if you'd never contemplated telstra then how did you end up signing up with them so as to be ripped off once before?
